These problems can cause pain and frustration, and the changed aesthetics can cause an individual to become self-conscious about their appearance. Lakepoint Dental offers comprehensive procedures that can restore your smile to pristine form.

Inlays and Onlays

If tooth decay or minor wear and tear is spotted, inlays and onlays are a fantastic solution for these issues. Both are similar to crowns, as they provide strength and protect teeth from receiving further damage.

However, inlays and onlays are prepared beforehand to fix a solution, and they are not used for chipped or broken teeth. After an oral examination – if the doctors determine inlays or onlays are necessary – we will prepare your custom restorations in a laboratory and schedule a follow-up appointment, so they can be bonded to the teeth.

Inlays are bonded within the center of the tooth, while onlays are placed on the cusps (points) of the tooth. These restorations fix problem areas, safeguard the structure of the tooth, provide strength and stability, and protect weak areas in the tooth.
